Pressure makes diamonds

Despite all the stress I'm under, I was able to have a couple minutes to create this piece

Let me know what you think!

Picking up the brush again...

For the past two mornings, I've gotten up to work out...
then I get back to my room...
and I just visit my daily blogs...
then...

BAM!

Inspiration hit and I just walk a couple feet to my easel...
and I create these...

Not sure what inspired them...
but I'm happy.

Cheers,
Alice

We're on a break!!

Hey all,

I've been on winter break for awhile... just been busy trying to get everything done before I head to Europe!!! This wasn't much of a relaxing break since I've been running errands, preparing for next semester and catching up with friends (always fun :D ) I think I may spend some of my time just cuddling with the dog and watching some Friends.

Next year, I will be setting a couple resolutions. One of them is to work on this blog more because I have painted a lot more since my last post. I'm even trying other medias. Look at the most recent one below.

Thank you all for your patience and support!
Happy Holidays and a Happy New Years to all!
Cheers,
Alice

For a friend

Instead of working on a paper that's due tomorrow,
I painted this for a friend's birthday (that's tomorrow.. I mean today)
Happy birthday Jamie!

:o :/

Soweeeee

I've been so darn busy...
Halloween came and went and I was in Wonderland (Alice was my costume :D)
I've been running around campus doing so many things:
clubs....
meetings....
classes....
homework....
stuff for my Europe trip (passport, tickets... etc.)
business plan....
(yes.. a business plan... a lot of work but hopefully worth it)

Here's my most recent painting :)
so you can probably see what I'm dreaming of...

I've also decided to collect used Alice in Wonderland books...
Here's the inspiration for that idea...
I saw this book...
Then looked in it and saw this...
A 100 year old book!!!
Also a gift from a friend to another!!!
And the one of the people is named Lena!!!
(I enjoy that name very much.. I find it as an alternative name to another side of me)

I hope to find more treasures like this one :)

Cheers,
Alice

Holding off....

Sooo I'm going to put off Weekly Current Loves and
come up with something more creative during Fall Break...
Which is in two weeks....
I hope to be a better blogger once I get everything figured out...
Hopefully, I will have a more consistent blog as soon as I decide on exactly what I want to display...

I've decided to let this weekend be an artsy weekend...
I have to stop by the art museum anyways for a class...
and I'll probably paint right after so I'm inspired by other artists.

Speaking of art, look at this art intervention by Adrian Kondratowicz.
Simply Amazing.

Need some sunshine today...

What a gloomy day on campus....
I woke up on the wrong side of bed...
I have a lot of work to do...

*sigh*

However,
I luckily found the cheerfulness in this blog I recently discovered...
I've never wanted to paint so much...
So pretty... (done by the blogger/artist Laura T. Trevey)

Also I love love LOVE sandpainting now...
so beautiful...

I'm just trying to stay peaceful on a Monday like today..
I hope you have a great day!

Sell?

As I am moving from one room to another for the school year, I realized that I probably need to get rid of all of my finished art... I'm contemplating on selling them but I'm unsure if my effort to do so will be balanced by the profit I might make. If anything I'll probably try selling them on Etsy. Until then I'll still display them via this blog and will let you know if I do open a store.

Here are some more old paintings:
"Open Happiness"

"Where's my owner?"

7 Traits Of Irresistible Men

This popped up on the Yahoo main page and I was intrigued to see what traits they listed... Here's the link to it. I wasn't surprised to see most of them... humor... affectionate.. respect and so on.. But the one I was surprised to see was the wink one. From the website it says:

1. He Has Mastered The Wink. We don't know how they learn the technique but some guys really have the Richard-Gere wink down pat. There's an art to this wink and getting it right can be tricky. It's more suave and smoky than cheeky and laughable. He's comfortable giving this signal and has the timing to the tee. Done right, this move is pure sexy. Caveat: The wink can be tricky to pull off. Practice first.

It's so true! So guys... get down the wink... and you be as suave as James Dean (new painting! see below)

Here's a before picture (I bought it at the Salvation Army for $2!):

Here's the final product:

There are still more paintings in progress:

3. Emily Schuman's outfit- The dress was only $10! I love the texture of the sandals.. the frill on the dress.. the gorgeous bag and the studded details on the belt. Just a great outfit! So jealous...

4. Otis Redding's Try a Little Tenderness - Especially in Pretty in Pink with Duckie (I've always loved this song.. not a current love but a forever one haha)

5. This nerdy necklace on Etsy- it's the caffeine molecule... haha how cute!

6. This drawing by Erika Altosaar - so simple and deep

7. Fehr's puppies - They are sooooo cute!!!!!!!

8. The idea of having chalkboard paint on the kitchen cabinets
