Pressure makes diamonds

Despite all the stress I'm under, I was able to have a couple minutes to create this piece

Picking up the brush again...

For the past two mornings, I've gotten up to work out...
then I get back to my room...
and I just visit my daily blogs...
then...

BAM!

Inspiration hit and I just walk a couple feet to my easel...
and I create these...

Not sure what inspired them...
but I'm happy.

Cheers,
Alice

We're on a break!!

Hey all,

I've been on winter break for awhile... just been busy trying to get everything done before I head to Europe!!! This wasn't much of a relaxing break since I've been running errands, preparing for next semester and catching up with friends (always fun :D ) I think I may spend some of my time just cuddling with the dog and watching some Friends.

Next year, I will be setting a couple resolutions. One of them is to work on this blog more because I have painted a lot more since my last post. I'm even trying other medias. Look at the most recent one below.

Thank you all for your patience and support!
Happy Holidays and a Happy New Years to all!
Cheers,
Alice

For a friend

Instead of working on a paper that's due tomorrow,
I painted this for a friend's birthday (that's tomorrow.. I mean today)
Happy birthday Jamie!

:o :/

Soweeeee

I've been so darn busy...
Halloween came and went and I was in Wonderland (Alice was my costume :D)
I've been running around campus doing so many things:
clubs....
meetings....
classes....
homework....
stuff for my Europe trip (passport, tickets... etc.)
business plan....
(yes.. a business plan... a lot of work but hopefully worth it)

Here's my most recent painting :)
so you can probably see what I'm dreaming of...

I've also decided to collect used Alice in Wonderland books...
Here's the inspiration for that idea...
I saw this book...
Then looked in it and saw this...
A 100 year old book!!!
Also a gift from a friend to another!!!
And the one of the people is named Lena!!!
(I enjoy that name very much.. I find it as an alternative name to another side of me)

I hope to find more treasures like this one :)

Cheers,
Alice

So sad...

As soon as I got my camera I took a bunch of pictures.... but sadly at the same time I got sick... flu like symptoms... :/ ... I haven't been able to stay awake for more than an hour without getting really tired and without feeling like my body's going to crash. So unfortunate... because I have so much to do as it is. Oh well... as a pick me up I've decided to display my bunny series named Alice's bunny :)... I'll have to come up with a better name... but here they are :)
Enjoy!!

Good dull day/Current Loves

So nothing exciting really happened to me today BUT I feel like I'm on a high of some sort... I was just walking around campus and I couldn't help but smile... people around me probably thought I was silly but who cares... I'm happy :)

Considering that I'm not sure what's making me so happy, it's tough trying to put a list together of what I current love right now... but I'll try.

1. Professors that are on the same teaching wavelength I am on.

2. the cover of Michael Jackson's Beat it done by Fall out boy (I love the guitar in the middle) and
3. Guitar Hero

4. Finding things that I thought were long gone

5. Compliments on my paintings (they keep me going)

6. Regular dinners with my friends

7. Knowing that people close to me are doing amazing things with their lives

8. This flask I got from Urban Outfitters on sale (it says "You will be hungry again in one hour... in bed")

9. Looking at my old paintings and remembering the reasoning for painting it.

10. New opportunities

I hope you're all having a happy good day.

Enjoy!!

Sorry...

I apologize for my lack of posts... I've been trying to make sure everything is settled before I start blogging again... Plus I left my camera at a friend's place so I can't even put up my new pictures... Here are some old paintings I did awhile back. Both paintings are created from photos my friends took.
From my friend Hannah's photo.

From my friend, Pat's photo of a window lock.

Enjoy!!

5. My new friend, Zach Golay's amazing photography skills... he even took some pictures for me as new painting references. * if you use any of his photos for anything give him credit please
6. My charcoal sketch of "Puppy Love"

7. My friends .. again and forever and always

8. Renewed friendships (thought it should have its own point)

Old paintings

Here are some more old pictures:

"Mini Adventure"
One of my simpler paintings :)

I also love smaller/more personal companies on Etsy. I purchased a tote bag from PiperBags and they wrapped the purchase so nicely that I had to take a picture.

Sell?

As I am moving from one room to another for the school year, I realized that I probably need to get rid of all of my finished art... I'm contemplating on selling them but I'm unsure if my effort to do so will be balanced by the profit I might make. If anything I'll probably try selling them on Etsy. Until then I'll still display them via this blog and will let you know if I do open a store.

Here are some more old paintings:
"Open Happiness"

"Where's my owner?"

Let me know what you think!

Enjoy!

This made my day.

Facebookers: Please visit my actual site.. It feels more like a blog there.
http://aliceinthiswonderland.blogspot.com/

As I'm doing my almost daily visits to one of my favorite blogs (life is beautiful), I see that she mentioned me!!! I'm at work and the biggest smile just came over my face and I'm pretty sure people are looking at me strangely. It made me feel like a somewhat legit blogger! YAY!

Here's one of my recent paintings titled Silver Lining... the idea that a dark cloud can still bring happy things :)

7 Traits Of Irresistible Men

This popped up on the Yahoo main page and I was intrigued to see what traits they listed... Here's the link to it. I wasn't surprised to see most of them... humor... affectionate.. respect and so on.. But the one I was surprised to see was the wink one. From the website it says:

1. He Has Mastered The Wink. We don't know how they learn the technique but some guys really have the Richard-Gere wink down pat. There's an art to this wink and getting it right can be tricky. It's more suave and smoky than cheeky and laughable. He's comfortable giving this signal and has the timing to the tee. Done right, this move is pure sexy. Caveat: The wink can be tricky to pull off. Practice first.

It's so true! So guys... get down the wink... and you be as suave as James Dean (new painting! see below)

Here's a before picture (I bought it at the Salvation Army for $2!):

Here's the final product:

There are still more paintings in progress:
Let me know what you think!
